CHRISTINA & ALEX
Where to even begin?! Holy cow the Lazarev family sure knows how to throw a wedding!! So for those of you that don’t know, I shot Natasha’s (Christina’s sister) wedding back in December of 2016. It was seriously amazing to say the least. One of my favorite things about her wedding was all the details. You could tell that she had put a ton of work into all the little details in her wedding. I felt so honored to be able to shoot such an amazing wedding and to be able to work with Natasha and Kyle.
Fast forward to January 2018, Christina reached out to me about shooting her wedding in Virginia and I about died. Not only because I absolutely loved the Lazarev family but also because I knew the type of weddings they throw and I couldn’t miss it for the world. But… I was pregnant and was afraid that my doctor wouldn’t give me the green light to go. I was going to be 30 weeks when her wedding was going to take place. I clearly remember going to my doctors appointment and asking my doctor if he thought I would be fine. My heart was clearly set on going but I also wanted to do what was best for my baby. When he told me that as long I stayed healthy throughout my pregnancy, there should be no reason not to go. Just as long as I didn’t stay out there for too long. You guys have no idea how freaking excited I was!
In May I shot her first. I wrote a little blog post about that here.
So I flew out the Friday before her wedding. My sweet sister was so kind to fly out with me and help me out since I was freaking huge. We got in super late so we didn’t really have a chance to see much since it was so dark. Saturday morning we got up and headed over to the house she was going to get ready at. The entire way there my sister and I were in awe. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many trees in my entire life. Trees everywhere as well as big green fields! Definitely one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to! Her ceremony and reception took place at The Market At Grelen! Hands down one of the prettiest locations I’ve ever shot at! It was all outdoors and it had an amazing view! It was so breathtaking.
Something I learned after shooting Christina’s wedding was that the Lazarev’s were all about details. I noticed it at Natasha’s wedding and Christina’s as well. Well I was in heaven to say the least. I absolutely love when brides put so much work into those small details. Some people think no one will notice… believe me when I say that I will most definitely notice! GIVE ME ALL THE DETAILS! Haha.
Christina and Alex looked absolutely stunning that day! Their vows made me cry. Yes I cried. At the ceremony. No shame haha! I thought maybe it was all those pregnancy hormones but after getting home I listened to the audio part of the ceremony and nope it was not the pregnancy hormones. It was 1000% due to the fact that their vows were so amazing! Look at the video and then you’ll see what I’m talking about. Their first dance was so sweet and special. They had Christina’s older brother, the best man and maid of honor give a toast and they all said the sweetest things about them. They also had a super awesome dance party. My sister and I kept dancing behind our cameras because the DJ played some of our favorite songs! Shout out to DJ Mova! It was such a pleasure working with you and your sweet wife!
Well, the entire day was amazing! I seriously didn’t want it to end. Both Christina and Alex had friends and family who kept going up to me offering me a chair, water and snacks! Everyone was so incredibly nice! They are so lucky to have such amazing friends and family! My sister and I felt so welcomed! Christina and Alex were so amazing to work with! After hearing their love story, it made me so happy to see them tie the knot! I feel so grateful that they trusted me with their first look and wedding video! And even more lucky that they liked me enough to fly me out to Virginia! Their wedding will always have such a special spot in my heart! ♥
Here is their wedding video! Enjoy!
